Mz. Chalkdust says "Let's talk about the elephant in the room. Today's classroom education experience is lacking, kids are falling behind now, more than ever before." At Chalkdust Academy, we won't sugar coat anything, we get down to the business of education, good old fashioned back to the basics education. Our children deserve better than what they are getting in school these days!
Captain Kathy
Kathleen is the Founder and Director of Chalkdust Academy. She is a retired public-school teacher of 40 years. Recognizing the tremendous need for a reading program to enhance skills for children and adults. Kathleen is working tirelessly to expand Chalkdust Academy by adding additional progams to provide a bridge between the home school community as well as what our children are not getting in the public schools.
Reading Boot Camp Learning & Training Center @ Hillcrest
We hold classes at the Reading Boot Camp Learning & Training Center @ Hillcrest at 503 N 8th Street in Clinton, Indiana. This beautiful facility is on the National Register of Historic Places and is nestled in a quiet neighborhood just a block off of the newly renovated 9th Street.
CAMP CURSIVE
The Department of Education removed cursive handwriting from the curricilum in 2010. Chalkdust Academy has introduced this lost art back into existence. We bring students back to the classroom, surrounded by wonderful slate chalkboards where students both young and old get to improve their hand writing skills. New classes will be starting soon!
